Students Participate In Global Ozone Project

If you spot Bella Ferrera‘s students walking around, they might be sporting a new accessory-A new Science Accessory!  These science citizens are participating in The Global Ozone Project (GO3).  They are carrying around small, portable devices that measure air pollutants.  Students measure the levels of primary  (black carbon) and secondary (ozone) air pollutants outside their school and upload the data to the GO3 database.  The information is then displayed using Google Earth.  The collection of data offers opportunities for the scientists to graph information, blog about their experience, participate in discussion forums and share their photos.  This project provides an authentic learning experience as students investigate air pollution while employing the scientific process!  Way to go Scientists!
